Quadrant was established in 2005 and carries on business in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan. Its head office is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Quadrant has a growing team of professionals including accountants, lawyers, financial analysts and accredited wealth planners available to deliver the highest level of service to its client base.
Quadrant is primarily a “manager of managers” delivering conventional and alternative asset classes to client portfolios managed by best in class institutional investment teams.
Quadrant’s Investment Philosophy
Quadrant believes that managing an investment portfolio does not rest either in adopting an active or passive approach but rather a hybrid of the two. While the underlying asset class may lend itself to an active (i.e. Small Cap) or passive (i.e. Government bonds) approach, these underlying asset classes should be structured to create a dynamic asset mix that is “right” for a client.
Quadrant believes that certain investment managers have demonstrated skill over many business cycles and have outperformed relevant indices or benchmarks on a risk adjusted basis after fees. Quadrant continually searches for managers, asset classes and investment styles that can add value to client portfolios.
QAM Tracking PoolsTM
The QAM Tracking Pools™ represent a globally diversified range of pure asset class pools. Each QAM Tracking Pool may invest in institutional funds of other managers (“Underlying Pools”).
The QAM Tracking Pools™ provide an innovative and low cost means to provide access to world class institutional managers otherwise not available to investors. There are currently no costs charged in the QAM Tracking Pools™. There are costs charged in the Underlying Pools.
Quadrant does a rigorous review of managers to select best in class institutional managers. Selection criteria include: management style, assets under management, investment performance and consistency, fees and other charges and reporting.
Quadrant continually monitors the Underlying Pool managers for appropriateness and acceptability. An underlying pool manager may be replaced if the manager is found to have, among other reasons, changed its investment strategy or if a different investment manager is found to better satisfy the particular mandate.
The QAM Tracking Pools™ allow Quadrant to deliver a cost effective globally balanced portfolio to clients in accordance with their Investment Policy Statement (IPS).
In order to determine the composition of a client portfolio, each Quadrant client undergoes a comprehensive review of their financial affairs resulting in a customized IPS. This IPS forms the foundation of all investment management decisions relating to that client. An IPS, reviewed as often as required, instills a disciplined approach to a client’s investment portfolio.
